What is the recommended way to store coffee?Updated 21 days ago

Coffee should be stored in a dry (to protect from moisture), opaque (not see-through, to protect the delicate natural flavor oils and compounds from light), airtight (to protect from oxygen in the air) container at room temperature. Additionally (and ideally) it should be kept away from sun exposure and any appliance that may generate heat (such as an oven).

Although some believe keeping coffee grounds in a refrigerator or freezer can help maintain the freshness, it is actually the opposite. Storing coffee in cold places can cause moisture in the air to condense (similar to when your refrigerator sweats or your freezer ices up inside) on the coffee itself and can extract the flavor.

Px Coffee should stay fresh for up to 6 months if sealed and unopened. Once opened, we'd recommend using within 2-4 weeks. While it doesn't necessarily "go bad" immediately after this, it can lose flavor and freshness and taste flat and stale when it meets the oxygen in the air.
