Our K-Cup pods are made from recyclable polypropylene plastic (also known as #5 plastic), which is widely accepted in curbside recycling systems across North America. However recyclability depends on your local waste management program. Check with your local recycler on thin plastics as most recycling programs often require the aluminum lid, filter, and coffee grounds to be removed before recycling. The pods and contents are not compostable, though the spent coffee grounds can be added to home composting. We're committed to improving sustainability in our packaging.
